Hillsides Outreach Program needs Everyone (H. O. P. E.)
St. Luke's is looking to bring "HOPE" to the children of Hillsides. There is so much good to be done in the world today. To keep from spreading the parish too thin, we agree to designate Hillsides as our focus for outreach. This is an Episcopal institution and it is in our own backyard.
Our big support ofr Hillsides in 2004 was our Christmas gift drive. The Committee was asked by Hillsides to focus on the teenagers in their program. We were proud to be able to deliver over $700 in cash and gift cards plus several large bags of gifts to Hillsides.
in 2005, the HOPE plan is to bring smiles to the children of Hillsides all year long. we are asking the parish to support the program at various times during the year. We are currently planning the following events:
Valentine's Day: heart shaped boxes for candy
Easter: gift cards to be put in Easter Egg
Early Summer: gift cards for ice cream, movie passes, other summer activity items
Back-to-school: school supplies
Christmas: gift cards for teenagers and special request gift list items
