Joy This Day
Variable greens reveal beauty nearby
the wind moves delicate clouds in a dance.
A vivid blue sky outlines a vision
of trees and buildings that populate distance.
Right here we share the shadows and sunlight
with squirrels that climb through the spreading spruce.
The butterflies brighten the view all around.
The children contribute soap bubbles galore.
What is it that truly enlivens our day?
What more can we add to these things we have seen?
Perhaps to remember God gave us this world.
He gave us our minds and this time to enjoy!
